Ageius

embodies the mineral character offered by Ay’s terroir. The finesse of the subsoil’s chalk enhances the finesse of Pinot Noir.

Parcel: La Fosse.
Altitude: 166 to 170 m.
Exposure: south/south-east.
Surface Area: 685 m2. 

Geology and Terroir.
Geological Origin: Cubray Valley.
A chalky hilltop with a layer of reddish brown clay.
Chalky clay soils. 

Grape Variety: 100% Pinot Noir.

Organic Vine-growing.
Organic certification since the 2023 harvest.

Total soil tilling since 2015. Implementation of bio-dynamic growing in 2016.
Weedkiller and synthetic substance free. Use of fermented extracts and plant infusions.

Pressing, winemaking, maturing.
The extracted juice is not separated, in view of better respecting the grape berry in its entirety.
Exclusively elaborated in 400-litre barrels. Alcoholic fermentation using indigenous yeast. No
malo-lactic fermentation, no stirring.
 

Bottling: natural cork.

Dosage: 3 g/l.

The plot was acquired in 2015.
It is situated in
Ay, a renowned village, boasting Grand Cru classification.

Tasting Notes.
Colour: luminous / golden.
Aromas: tasty / well ripened / jammy.
Fruit salad: blue berry / wild strawberry /apricot.
Palate: generous / vinous / crunchy. 

Bubbles: subtle / refined / well coated. 

Serve chilled, 9-10 °C.
